As we discussed in a previous blog post, business schools value diversity along every dimension and go to great lengths to make their programs welcoming to all, including LGBTQ+ applicants and students. The top 25 MBA programs in the United States all have LGBTQ+ student clubs, and many of them also have diversity admissions events or events designed specifically for LGBTQ+ prospective students.
As you research business schools, it is a good idea to attend events for any school of interest to you. We also recommend talking to students as part of your MBA program research whenever possible. The leaders of LGBTQ+ clubs are often listed on the clubs’ websites and can tell you not only about their clubs, but also more about their schools. In addition, 60 of the top business schools have partnered with Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA), which this year is offering a two-day conference in Chicago on October 5–7, 2023, aimed at LGBTQ+ candidates applying to MBA programs.
